If you’re a Shopify user, we’ve got some good news for you! Beginning at the end of July, customers will be able to checkout from Shopify through your shop site without being rerouted to the checkout.shopify.com page.
Along with your branded checkout, Shopify will provide all merchants with a free SSL certificate on their site. With this certificate, customers will receive an added sense of security over purchases they make!
And the best news? All Shopify merchants will automatically receive this update for free.
NO CUSTOM DOMAIN, NO PROBLEM
If you don’t already have a custom domain, don’t fret! This feature is available for all Shopify users even if you are operate under the my-shop.shopify.com account. Each merchant page directly ties to a checkout page regardless of a custom domain. As such, customers who come to your shop site can still check out on your page directly.
And, if you are interested in having a branded domain, you can easily purchase one straight through Shopify.
FOR THE SHOPIFY PLUS USERS
For those that are a part of the Shopify Plus family, there’s even more good news! Starting now, you can receive an Extended Verification (EV) SSL certificate for your site. This certificate provides customers with a further sense of trust regarding the security of their personal information.
In addition, because Shopify Plus can customize the liquid code for this feature, migrations will begin on August 20th. Shopify Plus accounts will, therefore, have extra time to ensure all necessary changes are in place!
CAN I PERSONALIZE MY CHECKOUT?
Currently, the ability to edit the look and code of your checkout is only available to Shopify Plus users.
However, checkout accounts for all merchants are rigorously tested. By ensuring optimization of shop sales & a high level of security, your customers will be provided with the perfect shopping experience!
